bilis ng araw...back to work :(

it's already a month since I started here in my new work, comparison?well, financially wise, its better here but in terms of security, not sure yet. anyway, my plan is just short term. It's really hard to come down for interview abroad if client will shortlist your profile then I failed, that sucks.
My current job has less pressure and most of the time "petiks", I just monitor the servers and seldom do system works. Boring in some way, less work but more money, but in some way, you tend to become lazy. The platform we used here is quite identical, only difference is we used win server 2003 and web server 2008 here, and all desktops are using XP. What I am really impressed with it is they're very cautious about software licenses :)
Perhaps, I just stay my ass here just for a couple of months then save some money. At the same time earning some work experience.

Many new versions just come up recently, we have the firefox 3.x which I had issue before with some of our https/SSL certificates, then we have the security feature of telling users if a website is a suspected attack site, that caused panic to our boss, thinking our servers have problem and in a way thinks that machine was compromised. geez, we had to add exception just to make it work. I wonder how mozilla or search engines diagnose such thing.
Google's own Browser was released, i tried it but the design was quite lame, but it's fast and some features on it, but I still like the Firefox. Though I am a google software user, mostly all google utilities and add-ons I installed it on my lappy esp. the toolbar so I can retrieve my bookmarks anywhere I want. I also use Gmail Drive shell extension which I'm wondering why Google has no official site about that.

Then we have also the URL adding of "&fmt=18" to get HD version from youtube.

Err, I was back to desktop after my office laptop was used by one of managers, I have no choice, I missed it, it's a Dell Vostro 1400

new job,new challenges, new life

last aug 22 was my last day in my previous work, and after weekend, aug 25, I had to start with my new job. Last week I would say is 1 week of hell, my daughter was confined in the hospital due to dengue fever. Initial findings were related to her stomach or gastro thing, then eventually discovered dengue fever since there is a fall in platelet count. She had to stay for 1 week in the hospital, yeah that long, her doctor is incompetent and not really a good pediatrician (she sucks!). It's really a pain to see my daughter lying in the bed with dextrose on her hand, and the nurses need to get a blood sample every morning, that's about 6 times. That's a traumatic experience for my daughter's end, actually I had to argue with 1 med tech there who inserted the syringe twice because of human error (tatanga tanga). I have no any issues of the procedure, actually I am more in favor to measure it twice a day...I know that this disease is fatal if not discovered right away, I hate about viral diseases is that it has no cure , but only way is to try to substitute and replenish the body. Anyway, maybe i'm just too emotional that time, I cannot stand to see important persons in pain, now I proved many things, first, I cannot live without my daughter, I breathe, work and live for her (emo mode),second, family is one of the most important blessings in life, ,my family and relatives are very supportive of us, and lastly, having faith in God is the answer to all challenges. Maybe it happened to strenghten my ties with the Lord coz sometimes I'm too busy with something else. A lesson that will mark one time of your life, it's a hell of experience to work with your new job but your mind is not into it, your mind is flying, thinking of your daughter, wasted in a way I don't have any complete sleep for 1 week. We are grateful of all friends and relatives visits, and they had to bring different foods.
Anyway, it's my second week now with my new job, probably it's a short term plan for now. The job description is quite the same, only difference is there are few servers and it's a small company owned by americans. Before I managing more than 30 PH servers, 50+HK & US servers, from mail, dns, web , db and other services in a telecom company and it is owned by chinese. The only difference is my current work is just a small company but with higher salary and small responsibilities, compared before a medium company with a less benefits and bigger responsibilites. too ironic,huh,
I blogged today because I'm bored, still no things to do here in my new work. Of course, it's ok if you see it in a different perspective but maybe I want to do more things. I want to show them my worth. But that's ok, it's just a short term goal, I don't need to do several things and impressed them. I have long term goals..
