I arrived here in the office and the first thing i've seen was an alarm from one of our monitoring system, critical critical critical. tsk tsk tsk. I said to myself, this will not be a petix day for me. One of my boxes, specifically one of the mail server, kind of messed up. Checked the dmesg logs, got some SCSI disk error, I/o error, Ext3-fs error. I have to double check if it was the drive, my filesystem, the journal, or the array. This machine is fucked up.
Luckily, array got messed up so i have to rebuild it,then afterwards it's ok. Thank God. Or i will be fucked up also..hehehe .
Now it's time for backup..

Yesterday was one of the worst day to us in MIS dept, a power failure that leads to a minor downtime to our servers, our generator did not supply the office coz of broken Automatic Transfer Switch, since UPS has only 5 minute supply for the machines, it was also a 5 minute minor panic ro us. It was a long story, it's challenging but were kind of under pressure coz our bosses are here in PH and we don't want that situation to reflect on our work evaluation. Anyway, experience is still the best teacher, proper procedures and contingency plans were made after that. We learned our lesson.lolz

Anyway, it was already late when i was able to ride on the bus, luckily, i don't have to listen to the crappy music station in the bus, the "kelangang pa bang memorize yan" stupid station, because the driver was listening to old school disco songs, Not that i like that kind of music genre, it's because, i'm kind in reminiscing mode when i was young when my eldest brother used to have his own "disco mobile system". His "mobile" was kind of popular to our village and the near subdvision, I still remember how he named his mobile and changes for couple of times, if I remember from the name "Psychedelic Posse Mobile" to something like the name "Tower Mobile, something like that...hehe.. he used to do some mixing and scratching.wakeke.. he do have some sophisticated turn tables, customized speakers, cool tweeters and amplifiers all sponsored by my parents, but i think it only lasts for 2 years, music is changing, and his equipments after several years were left behind by the fast phase of technology. i think if i get the driver's audio mix CD and gave it to my brother, he will be in tears of joy..hehe..
I was not really into that kind of music, that's why we are not that close, aside from he is very shy and a quiet type of person , we are kind of have different music preferences, the only music I do like that he used to play on his mini-compo were the old skul new wave shits...esp. the brit artists like the Cure.

my own SONA

Got myself a new jacket, i have to buy one since i can't find my old jacket,don't know if someboy stole it on my room, i don't want to point fingers or blame anyone, but it really pisses me off coz the jacket has a sentimental value for me,it's an old blue adidas jacket, it was given by my mom and have so much memories with it since college days. But i like the new one, it's a brown adidas jacket inspired with jamaican colors, it's cool.

Last Saturday, it was fun. We had some like a reunion with my old buddies at high school. Lots of "pulutans" inihaw na baboy at bangus, and lots of beers. We are drinking the whole night while playing darts, i have a 1-2 standing , too bad..hehehe
I missed the good old days...

I'm here in the office, eventhough it's special non-working holiday today, its PGMA SONA, i have to be here coz no one will replace me on my morning shift, 30% pay is not enough i guess, and the venue of SONA was near our place so I have to have some options not to pass along that avenue. Luckily, i have 3 options...
I hope there will be no bloodshed later.

Yung Germany na aktibo noon sa digmaan ngayon ay tahimik na lang ngayon at tahimik sa usaping nukleyar, sa pampalakasan, isang itim ang nakikilala ngayon sa larangan ng golf, at d2 sa pinas, pansin ko lang mas mahal ang pamasahe ng mga ordinary (non-aircon) kaysa sa aircon bus/fx...Mas pabor sa akin kasi madalas iyon ang sinasakyan ko.

I'm still waiting for my ccna book, so that will be my signal that i will be starting to focus on review, probably i can't take it this year coz i'm not yet ready, plus i still don't have the money to pay for the exam fee. I hope this august, i can get hands of this old laptop that will be given by my mom, i just use to store all my pdfs and reviewers so it will be handy that anywhere i can read some stuffs, and use it as a test server on focusing on bsd...That's my plan for this year, to be more expose in other networking technologies, core equipment configurations and other opensource tools... I think having ipod for myself is just a dream, i'll have to prioritize other things, huhuhu, my mobile phone sucks, i want to have those gadgets, not to look cool but to satisfy my cravings for technology..hehe

I finished watching several comic acts by dane cook, and it really makes me laugh, and now watching bunch of clips from faces of death...

online gaming? not that much...coz my connection at home is really slow, stupid static phone lines... always dc and can't play that much coz it's laggy...

i think i just have to have some good time this coming week , i hope so, i missed the beers...pulutans, old music,old friends...

BLOG REVIEW

My work shift today is kinda night shift, started not the usual way, watching dane cook's impersonation of tom cruise specifically how he behaved on Oprah's show. Dane is definitely funny,anyway, still have a hangover from last night's bday party from my friend. Last night, you have to be a good listener coz almost some of them were drunk already since i arrived kinda late.
Anyway, just browsing around then checking my friendster for a long time, this is my 2nd account coz i can't login anymore on my dummy email account (disabled), maybe i paid the consequences of using that email to login , (dami ko pa namang testimonials dun..hehe ) anyway, while checking on my friends, i got to check out my ex-officemate friendster blog. His blog is kind of interesting and funny, coz its full of angst and hate, (ewan ko lang kung totoo nga to look cool and reflect that he is a type of deep guy..heheehe..pero seriously i know this guy, he's cool and we salute him for standing on what he believes in.we still remember how he answered back to our company's CEO. ala paguia tapes, we got the recorded conversation between him and the president, arguing and doing some trash talk...hehehe priceless).

first thing i did when i got in the office was to listen to some of my mp3s on my music vault, and this type of music makes the start of your day exciting coz it's one of the coolest composition ever made, for me of course.
But i had to take a cab this morning (bwisit gastos), in order for me to get in the office early, coz i already had several lates and I don't want the punctuality issue to serve as one of the basis by my superiors for my evaluation.
Bought the "walang kamatayang" jumbo hotdog (smokie/hungarian) sa Mini-stop kasi yun lang ang nakikita kong mejo mabigat sa tiyan,yung sarap pwde na at magaan sa bulsa, then make some coffee para feeling boss ako...
Do the usual stuffs, checked first on some monitoring tools, mrtg, nagios, etc. etc etc etc, did network health check ika nga, checked boxes, then of course emails so i can get updated to what happened the other night like new website deployment, system changes, etc.

I'm excited already for tomorrow's NOC knowledge sharing, we had to learn some advance configs from our Cisco guru, and in prepatation installed Boson Router Simulator, luckily i got the installer with cracks.

Para naman kahit papano may pumasok na maganda sa utak ko, kakatamad kasi e...wala ko kwenta...

PLAYING & WATCHING

I played at quantum the other day, i was waiting for someone, so to ease boredom, bought 2 tokens and played Tekken 4, im not really used to play this version even tekken 5, the graphics is cool but still i like tekken tag tournament. I'm not really that good now compared before that I can sweep all my opponents on arcade or PS1/2, im not bragging, we used to hangout before with my college friends on arcades and on his place playing the whole night, and we are kind of addicted to either NBA Live or Tekken 3, it was still PS1.
But the other day, i got to win 3 consecutive wins from 2 opponents, but lost on my 4th match..hehe. parang laos na ako d2..i forgot some of the combo moves and of course the "juggle moves", me and my friends call it "juggle", don't know if others have the same term as we used to call it, anyway, juggle in a way, that we hit
our opponent as many hits as we can while he is on air,
since he can't move while floating on the air.hehe.

I went home and spent the night watching DVDs i borrowed, got to watch teenage flick "EuroTrip" and "The Terminal" by Tom Hanks, the movie was cool and what we expect it's Tom Hanks,parang ano yan e, if its from Seiko, it must be good..wakekekeke, the pioneer of ST movies ..hehe

Fucking shit.Another terrorist attacks, i've heard this news last evening and now browsing the CNN site to read some stories and watch some video clips, and its really terrifying.

I am very worried since evening because both of my parents were in London and everyday they used to ride on trains, which were targets of attacks. Accdg to the news around 7 explosions were reported in London, and 6 of them were underground attacks, bombing trains. tsk tsk tsk.

I already send an SMS to my parents, and maybe i'll call them using this new business of one of my friend, VOIP thing..

actually, im not really shocked after listening to those audio files, and even after i heard for the first time the news regarding those tapes..let's face it, election here was never credible,clean and honest. got used to it and got live with it. im not pro-gma, either pro-fpj or pro-opposition..its crap..maybe i'll continue this later.
