NO LONGER CONNECTED

July 28 was my last day.yahooooo and Im officially not associated with this co. anymore..At last..
Im free ..Im free (I felt like a slave from a slave miner shouting from yuri's revenge.hehe)
I emailed my a**hole ex-boss regarding my salary but he told me that he will try to give that before the end of august..fucking shit... ..

Serving for almost 3 months really change me professionally and personally, this company sucks!!! But at least I proved myself and tried all my best to be a good sysad as I want to be. Before I touch those servers, it was a mess.... I can't believe that this co. hosted big sites which have servers that have lots of security holes..At least I did some things good to them..stabilizes the servers, created greater uptime, I guess I secured the servers and tested all things that are vulnerable? I don't want to touch those servers anymore coz Im through...

I'm in the shop right now..nothing to do..just browsing around..It's been long time since I used my slack here ..d/l YM 1.0.4 from a yahoo group, and tried fluxbox..the interface is cool and simple..still checking configs and stuffs..
Tried also xfce (cholesterol free), its cool and i like the file manager, for convenient smb networking in this LAN.

Yesterday is supposed to be my last day, but my boss is like requesting me to come in the office on Monday, well , i still need to back up all of my files on my desk,and help my ojts to do actual exam on the office with my boss...

I like to use PC here bec. it is more powerful and i like the 17' monitor which gives me more flexibility..

I just came from an interview and practical exam in Mandaluyong.  The position is linux admin, maybe I'll try my luck here. The practical exam lets me do some commands based on the question of this techie guy..they're using gentoo 2.6.5 and the interface is quite ok.
 
I hope they call me for job offer..hehehe

   I am planning to buy a new pc but I have to give my old pc (on the right side) to my brother for them( niece/nephew) to use it for school works. I consider it as one of my precious possession since it has a sentimental value  for me. This PC is with me since 1995 and luckily is still working right now.Hardware specs:P100,128MB Ram,4MB S3Virge,52xcdrom running dual boot win98 and slackware 9.1 kernel 2.4.24.
On the left side was given by my uncle its a old Compaq presario P75,128MBram..running win98 and freebsd 4.8

Mozcom Xperience
 
We went to mozcom data center this afternoon coz one of our server will be pullout and replace it with our server. I had  to do some little configurations with the machine before it will go live.
Now I had my conclusion that the problem we experienced before regarding machine's not pingable after couple of mins but pingable on their own network, the problem was on the network service company where the machine will be stationed, they don't want to admit that the problem was on their side..Another one of our machines (Mac) quite same problem bec. it dies out for couple of mins.. It is because they change the switch from half duplex to full duplex which was I think not supported by the machine's hardware/software..tsk tsk tsk
 
Now at mozcom, it is still up and no intermittent connections experienced.  Got to see the server room with lots of leased line modems, etc..got to see also the OS they used for workstations ..they are all running Linux, i'm quite shy to ask for the distro but im sure its not redhat..i guess its slack..good choice

PAY DAY is not a HAPPY DAY
 
The #1 reason why this company sucks, is because of salary issue and it is the #1 reason why i resigned.  I still have 1 week ahead to finish my turnover but it seems my boss is doing things to prolong my stay, to interrupt my plans or just bullshiting me.
He has lot of plans with the servers and he wants me to do those things while I am doing my turnover.  He keeps on talking that I must do my obligations before I leave, I would like to ask him also about his obligations to his employee to pay us what is for us.
 
I already lost my motivation and passion to do things that I like because this company is not paying us. All our efforts are not put into nothing.
 
 
By the way , thnx and respectz to teejz coz I already received my MS Security Kit CD.

TURNOVER STARTS

Turnover starts yesterday, damn it was too busy yesterday, I had to supervise my 4 ojts then at the same time ,teach the new sys ad,. Accdg to this new sysad ,he came from IBM working as network engineer and he specializes in windows but I don't know if it is true because when he did actual evaluation on one of our LAN servers (running in win2k advanced server) he keeps looking for .chk , i think that is a scandisk file log , as far as i know NTFS doesn't have that file because it will not run scandisk if you did not turn off properly. Anyway, Im not critizing him, one thing more, he only knows basic commands in Linux so I had to teach him different things, configuration of different services esp. Tomcat Server because we have a big client running jsp pages.

He was given 1 week observation and I will be the one to decide if he is qualified or not, for me, I have no choice but to recommend him because it will be a long turnover period if they get another person for this position. I really want to turnover all the things as fast as I can. I will share all the things I know so he will appreciate Linux
