Last night, we hanged out at my friend's house to drink some couple of beers. At last, I got to see the movie "Sid & Nancy", its about the story of Sex Pistols' bassist Sid Vicious and his junkie girlfriend Nancy. The movie was cool, and it kicks ass, nice protrayal by Gary Oldman as Sid. It was a DVD movie, he already ripped it to mpg format, so I helped him to burn those mpgs into VCD format. Cool I have now a nice copy of the said movie and planning for mass reproduction..lol..I dont support piracy..well I just offer it to my friends and earn some couple of money...

Today we had a General Assemby regarding our company's decision to let us choose if we want to stay or resign. If we resign, they are offering somewhat a separation pay.Since I already have plans this year for resignation, probably I grab it..

I met my old friend today when Im on way to work, shared some couple of stories then we started to laugh when our topic was about our college friend appearing every week on on of the sitcom in Ch.7 He played as an "extra" as "tambay sa kanto" and now he's improving coz he do have dialogues every week..hehhe..I still remember that we used to hang out on his house, drink some beers and smoke some weeds..hehehe...I never expect that he will have the guts to appear in front of the camera, and sometimes binabatuk batukan sya ng mga main casts where in the real life ..lol...But in fairness, I also admired him coz he's talented, I used to call him a rockstar, coz he do have a rock n roll band..he has a reggae look before but after he'd seen the movie "Trainspotting" he began to look as similar as possible with the main character in the said movie..hehehe..the last time we met was on MegaMall where he used to work in Powerbooks..

I got a second hand nokia 3530 and I think it was cool and timely as well coz I need it for possible job phone interview. I think that was the cheapeast Nokia model which has color display and capable for polyphonic tones. I can't afford to buy new gadgets and multi-featured mobile phones/PDA, I like P900 but need to prioritize other things, so its time to look for well-compensated jobs.
Hmmm im checking on this phone and luckily the ex-owner of the phone have some cool java games on it, I like Skate and Slam the most coz quite relate on it..

no blog today. not in mood..bad trip ako

fucking life,we got a citation from our manager, he already resigned last week but it was like a gift for us before he leaves, stupid accusations that he did not understand, he made us provide an explanation for that, its like he's making a policy that was not based from our department's memorandum which supposed to be the case....part of the explanation I made goes like this " I did what I know is right and Im confident as well that I did no wrong"(hehe).. the citation was like about non productivity ..actually 6 of us got the citation .. I was assigned as an onsite engineer for month of November and accdg to them, we had to go to office regularly if we don't have any work to do, stupid!coz that's not the agreement we had on the supervisor..I tried my best to do some internal web updates,fileserver maintenance,reports,and clients callback as much i can, but it seems they want us to perform our work not based on job description that we know (parang robot amputa)

I still remember then ,I made an email, its like a letter of expression of what was happened before regarding the management's decision to transfer some of our officemates to another department (which sucks),I made the email using one of IP add on our network block and telnet on smtp server of our sister company and found out that it can create an email (it's like an open relay,,kinda security hole) and used a dummy return address ..I said the email to 7 of my close officemates, it was like my immediate or violent reaction to the situation...
It is quite controversial because that email was received by our manager because one of officemate did reply on that dummy email using a return address of my manager's email (maloko amputa..hehehe) ...nag reply sya with a simple message "fuck!'pero luckily ..nakalusot naman kami khit it was escalated to higher engineering including netsec department...

I think on the other side may katuturan din khit doing such lame act kasi after that they had to secure ung port 25 nila and never relay any email ......that email was accdg to them a spam email...lol...tsk tsk...


It was such an experience,learning some unix commands and at the same time expressing the grievances .....

pero eto na naman...

Last night we went to Millenia to attend a punk gig, we were invited by my old friends in Kamuning coz they are one of the bands who will perform on the said event. We played billiards there and drink some couple of beers, got to meet some of friends when I used to skate then. We got to see some local bands and the audience was quite active and cooperative, punk scene here in manila still kicks ass.

Well I had to spent the whole day at home , we were waiting for my parent's visitors so we had to clean their room and the rest of the house as well...

till again on my next blog coz I had to make the phone line available...

Sometimes when I see people who had been exposed early to what my interests now like web development and system administration and stuffs like that, its like I kinda envy them and at the same time admire them, well I would say Im kinda latebloomer regarding those things, my college and high school day were full of fun, I'd spent mostly of my time then drinking and making fun, those days were amazing....We played skateboarding then and went to gigs as often as possible...but kinda lie-low starting the late years of my college, its like nagsawa din ..and enrolled in MITRC,a review center for preparation of ECE board exams...

Im thinking that if I could turn back the time, sana nagconcentrate ako more on C++ and perl programming, or mga database applications...coz that would help ..but as they say ..better late than never.....

Yes at last I have a freshly installed OS..well its morning now, I just create a ruleset later when I get back here in office...ahhh...I pre-selected only some packages that I want,make sure these are included:samba,iptraf,tcpdump,nmap,apache,ssh,php,mysql,source and manual pages......I did some testing a while ago and its working perfectly esp. in resolving hostname and network connection itself...

I'm currently installing slack9.1 on one of our box here in office,..It's really an agony installing on this old box, no cd drive, no extra IDE port...so my only way is to boot first on drive A: and then install the source using NFS..and I'll have no choice but to set it up in a windows machine..Search download.com for programs and decided to d/l Omni-NFS Server v.4.2 and had to export the cd-drive there...well with God's help,I was able to mount the directory..but before that I had to search for net.i bootdisk (ethernet support) on the net, coz for new slackware versions, you will not find bare.i etc. etc..

Well hope for the best....

I did not sleep last night coz I make myself busy, we played strategy games for a couple of minutes with one of my officemate...My officemate was also busy printing freebsd docus,(lol he's patient) and accdg to him its almost 600 pages so that means he'll be spending that same number of papers to be used...he'll do that by pages..I wonder what would be the logistics officer's reaction..hehehe I guessed he's just getting one of the benefits in office which is free printing (bawal pag nahuli) in a cool HP laser printer..Ya he's too patient ..and he has a habit of formatting his HD every week, I dont why he do this..he has a powerpul PC but still not satisfied with the performance, and this guy's father is an addict gamer...Accdg to him, his father is such a kid that he'll spent several hours in front of PC playing CC Generals,...

Still in the office..I am spending my time upgrading the kernel of one of our box here running on RH8,well I had to edit lilo for failsafe purposes where I can choose the old kernel..shit,the new kernel is not perfectly running..well I had to check for errors,,damn it is such pain in the ass coz i want to delete some packages but don't know where I will find those rpms..ahh...We are planning before to format the drive and to install slack9.1................
I had interview this morning and I asked the panelists about our stand, and they confirmed that it would be a lateral transfer..damn..Im not with the position but practically speaking,Im into financial aspect..that's why I told the interviewers that Im planning to go abroad just to let them know that Im not that interested..well maybe its not my fate..i rather stay here,.i have more free time and it is not that strict here,with the other dept,they do have policies that suck well I just pray that I will be in another company this year ,hopefully.or maybe some opportunity abroad...

This is my first blog this year 2004. I dont have nothing to do. Im in the office right now and enjoying my graveyard shift....Damn, i regret drinking coffee that's why Im still awake right now,browsing the net, checking my emails ,chatting with colleagues...tried to browse some educational stuffs but too lazy to read all of those manuals..maybe later..hehehehe

Watched the news this evening and sad to see my "kababayan" who had to spent their new year in the hospital, they never learn their lessons about the danger of firecrackers, that's why I did not bother to touch those. Anyway, Im still on a decision making coz Im planning to transfer to another department as Network Engineer, I had to weigh some things between the two, I learned several things on my job right now, I developed my web programming skills, and able to appreciate more the power of OS like linux and freebsd..I got to experience to set up and configure different services like apache, samba, ssh,etc and got to learn IP filtering and masquerading..

I would say my job today is more "petix" than the other dept, but I would say,its more challenging there coz on network management center, I will have to learn deeply different technical and telecommunication stuffs, will be exposed to technology and IT related fields...
